Skating By - Crafty Creations Challenges

Hello and I'm so glad you stopped by today,

Challenge #320 has started over at Crafty Creations Challenges. The theme is ombre  and the sponsor is Lacy Sunshine. Lacy Sunshine has a great selection of images so please check them out.

The image I used is Bubbles Ice Skating and I just love her. I know that the winter sports are a little ways off but thought you might need to be cooled off a bit from the hot summer temperatures. LOL

Let me show a closer view of Bubbles and of that ombre background

That ombre background started out as a large paint chip, and it works great for an ombre background, doesn't it. I also used a silver mirror paper for some of the snowflakes and that circle behind Bubbles. I am so disappointed that those show as black and not the silver I was striving to have on the card. Guess I won't use that paper again on these types of projects.

Well I hope this card cooled you down a bit.
The current Crafty Creations Challenges will end on August 2 at 10:00 p.m.
I hope to see a challenge submission with your name on it

    Memories

    Hello,
Thanks for stopping in. Just a quick little card for everyone.
I spied this stamp a while back and have just got around to using it today.

Behind that stamped panel is a paint swatch in the pink range. I love the curved top & bottom on that swatch. .And those pieces are layered onto a red card.

I used red and pink sequins and pink pearls.

Kind of CAS, definitely not my usual kind of card.
I love the look of CAS cards but I usually don't make CAS cards,
I think mine always look naked.
But I think this came out nice.
Hope you like it as well.

Crafty Creations Challenge #319 - CIean and Simple

    Hi there

Crafty Creations Challenges #319 starts today and the theme is Clean and Simple.
Now that theme is definitely not my forte, but I decided this image from Beccy's Place (this month's sponsor) would be perfect for a CAS card.
    I used Old Mailbox.
Please take a few minutes to check out the images over at Beccy's Place. There are a lot of super images and I am sure you will find just what you are looking for.

As I colored this image I was wondering what sentiment to use and then it hit me, since this mailbox was so old and falling apart there had been no mail delivered for a long time.
So that's why I used the sentiment I did.

In coloring this image, I used my colored pencils and gamsol to do the blending. I added some brown to show some rust and some gray on the wood beams to show a weathered look.

Hope you like my version of a CAS card.

    Smile

    Hi there
    Glad you see you.

Today is the beginning of a new month
and that means it's time for a new challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ.

I decided to use some flowers stamps from a new stamp set I recently picked up.
I wasn't sure how I was going to color everything and I finally decided to stamp on some Gelli Plate papers that I worked up and saved a while back.

Lets take a peek at the finished card

I had some green design papers so those were perfect for the leaves and the multi color papers were just what I wanted for the blooms. Then I decided to use more gelli plate papers for my layered panels bringing all the colors together.

Let me show you a closer pic of those flowers

I was really happy with the way the flowers turned out.

My bow is a 4 loop bow. I know - 4 loops, but I used Hug Snug, seam binding and since it is a thinner product a 4 loop bow is easy to make. The seam binding  started out as white  and I decided to dye it. Well I used Eggplant but it was too blue -ish so I rinsed it in the faucet. After patting it dry there was some blue left in the ribbon but I went ahead and sprayed it with Open Arms Amethyst and it matched that purple gelli plate panel. What a perfect mistake that turned out to be.
You know, the Crafty-Dee BowZ bow maker tool is what I use for all my bows. It is the best tool for all your bow making needs. Don't own one? Well click here to order one for yourself.

The designers have been busy with their inspiration projects and you can check them out here
