Crafty Creations Challenge - #331 - Any Holiday

Hello everyone and welcome back

Today is the start  challenge #331 over at Crafty Creations Challenges and the theme is Any Holiday.  So if you are really DONE with Christmas cards you can choose another holiday,
Valentines Day, Easter, 4th of July.......the list goes on.
For this challenge, I am the sponsor and will be sending the winner a new stamp set from
My Sentiments Exactly.
So, get a project made and submit it over at Crafty Creations Challenges.
You could be the winner.

Well because I am still in the Christmas mode and need a few more cards to be able to send out,
I decided to come up with another Christmas card.

And if you are still in need of a card design here is one for you.
Let me start by sharing how the card base is made.

This card started out as a 12X12 piece of scrapbook paper.

I folded it in half horizontally

and then folded that half, vertically in half.

Folded, this is now a 6X6 card

Next I folded the front of the card diagonally.

The top fold line on the card gets pushed down and in
so that top fold line touches the horizontal (side) fold line.

This forms 2 triangles which now become your card front.
I attached the triangles together so the card front is all one piece (not like 2 pages).

Hope you were able to follow that. - LOL

Here is the card decorated.

I attached that stamped Santa panel in the center of the triangular card front.
That stamped panel on the front can be changed out with whatever you have on hand.

Here is the card opened up.

I then placed a part of the Christmas Carol on the red panel.
You notice it's  open a little and is not attached at the bottom.
Well that's because it will flip up to reveal the rest of the piece from the Christmas Carol.

Where to sign you ask, well, you could sign on the back of the stamped Santa Panel image.

In using a 12X12 piece of scrapbook paper you will wind up with a 6X6 card that does require extra postage. Instead of mailing it, enclose it with a gift in the box or the gift bag.

Hope you found this card design the perfect but unique design for your card making needs.

Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - 48

Welcome back,

So glad you stopped in today. It's time for the next challenge over at  Lil Patch of Crafty Friends.

The theme is always Anything Goes and the sponsors for this challenge are
  Bugaboo stamps and Sami Stamps.

I love cats and so I chose this cutie.
The stamp is called Unraveled and
you can find him here at Sami Stamps.

This cute cat digi looked like he was playing with string or a piece of yarn.
However I wanted him to look like he was playing with a string of lights.
So I overlayed a tiny string of lights on the string in the digi design.
Next I added a tea bag folded tree and the sentiment and the card was really just about finished.

I think my cats are going to send this off to Robin's cats.

A Holiday Bag

Hi everyone

Thanks for stopping in today.

I have a great idea for you and this can done for anytime of the year, not just for the holidays.
Since CDB designers have a theme for December - Bags or Boxes,
I thought I'd decorate a plain bag and make it festive for the Christmas giving season.

 Our sponsor for December is:

is proud to sponsor this challenge.

Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps And More, a division of I Did It Creations, was created and is
owned by Robyn Weinrib. Robyn offers a wonderful variety of digital stamps and digital papers, designed to meet the needs of all digital paper crafting addicts for every occasion.
The December winner will receive - Robyn’s Fetish Digital Stamps And More is happy to award 3 digital stamps of the winner’s choice to the winner of this challenge.

I used a beautiful poinsettia image from Robins Fetish, called Prissy Poinsettia

Here is my bag all prettied up
Here is a closer view of the poinsettia image
To get this layered look, I printed out 4 images and colored them and fussy cut them out.
I cut another set of leaves and mounted them on top of the main image. Next I did the same thing, cut out the smaller leaves on the top area of the image. I mounted those on the top.
BTW I used dimensional foam to raise the leaves up on each of the layers
For the center clusters, I used yellow flat back pearls.
I added some colored flat backed pearls to the berry spots on the image.

For all poinsettia aficionados, what we see and call leaves, those are actually known as bracts.

Here is a close up of the bow.

I used my handy dandy Craft-Dee BowZ bow making tool to make that bow.
This sheer ribbon is a dream to work with and is easy to manipulate to
get those loops exactly where you want them to lay.

Need one for yourself or for a gift, order one here (go to the left sidebar and order thru PayPal)

The December Challenge over at Craft-Dee BowZ is in full swing and you still have time to submit your project. Remember, the theme is Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow
We will be looking for your submission and you just could be the December winner.

I don't know about you but I still have a lot to do. Mainly cards need to be made, a few more gifts need to be purchased and probably a few more things will be coming up. LOL

    In the meantime
December also means its time for the start
    of a new monthly challenge
