For the month of February there are two sponsors - Bugaboo and Stitchy Bears.  I have made cards using a digital image from each of the sponsors.

Both of my projects are Valentine cards.

I made an easel card using the Bugaboo digi image.

Here is my card using Stitchy Bear image- Flutter My Heart digi is a 5"X7" card.

The Altered Book for Cards Class

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since I last posted and for that I do apologize. My excuse?? Well I was prepping  for a class that I gave yesterday.

This class has been really popular. I have taught this class twice at Simply Said Rubber Stamps and have a 3rd one coming up Sat. Jan 31. I have 2 seats left. This class really takes a lot of prep time, hence my absence.

Let me share a pic or two with you. These show a page that is complete by two of the students.

I have added a new tab at the top here on my blog. This is where I will be sharing with you completed cards and other projects made by the students in my classes throughout the year.

To see more pics and a little more about this class click here

Thanks for stopping by and I will be back soon.

Everything Matters

Hello Everyone.
Are you getting used to seeing, saying and writing 2015. I am sure I will mess up this month at some point. LOL

Well we are thru with Christmas and now the next big card giving day is Valentines Day. The Craft-Dee BowZ design team will be posting Valentine projects all this month. Since it's the first Tuesday of the month, it's my turn to post. So let me start off the month with my card.

In looking at the "stuff" I haven't used in a long time, I got a few ideas to incorporate in my card.I decided to use my ribbon punch that I haven't used in eons.I also decided to score a diamond pattern on the white panel and on the heart. (Haven't done that in eons, either). In threading my ribbon thru the punched openings, I folded the ribbon in half, since the ribbon was wider than the openings.

Here is a closer view of my bow. It's a double loop bow and my Craft-Dee BowZ tool made it so easy to make the bow.

Have you submitted a project to the Craft-Dee BowZ challenge this month?? The theme is always "Anything Goes with a Handmade Bow". Easy-peasy.

Just a reminder - we will be having our bi-monthly blog hop, and it starts Feb. 5 @ 10:00 p.m. et. Please mark your calendars and join us for more inspiration.

Scoring and Folding

Hi Everyone,

In classes that I hold, this question comes up from time to time. So I thought I'd share the answer with you and  I added a  link back to this post in my tips and techniques section here on my blog. So you will always be able to refer to this post.

What direction should I fold the cardstock after I've scored it?

First you will need to score on what will be the outside surface and then fold the card in a mountain fold so that the bump on the reverse side ends up inside the card. By doing this you will get a much cleaner fold.
Keep in mind, when scoring on plain cardstock there is usually no front or back.

When folding concertinas you should score every second line on one side and then flip the card to score the other lines so that they fold in the opposite direction, this will enable you to fold in valley and mountain folds.

Remember this, when you score using a score tool, you are pushing the cardstock into the groove on the tool.. So as you look at the card stock that you have scored, you will see a dip, that means that score should become a mountain fold.

Here is a shot of a scored card folded with that dip on the outside

If you look at the other side of the scored card stock, before folding, you will see the bump and this will become a valley fold.

Here is a shot of the scored card stock beginning to be folded. The bump is showing and as you fold the card that bump will be in the inside of the card.

Hope this clears this up for you.

I Love You

Hi There Everyone and Happy New Year!!

It's the 1st of the month and the first of a new year. WOW!!, 2015 is here, can you believe it!!!!  I must have slept thru 2014, cause it went by so f..a..s..t.

Well I am ushering the new month with a new card project for the Craft-Dee BowZ monthly challenge. And of course, I am spotlighting my bow.

I thought I'd look ahead to Valentines Day so the card I chose to make celebreates that next, kind of big holiday, of sorts. I used my new die from Impression Obsession. Love the swirls and the open heart, perfect for a Valentine card.

Here is close up of my bow. I made a triple loop and added a few pearls to a hat pin and used that to attach my bronze heart charm.

The Craft-Dee BowZ bow maker is the perfect tool to make multi-loop bows.

I am entering my card in the following challenges:

Well that's it for the time being. I will be back tomorrow with some exciting news.
