Art Impressions Challenge #14

Hi Everyone,
I finally finished all my projects and I will be sharing those with you throughout the month of May. In the meantime, I went to the Art Impressions blog and looked at the challenge out there and saw the theme for challenge 14 is to use an animal stamp.

Well, the first thing that came to mind was those crazy ladies that Art Impressions has. They are too funny!! So I decided to use Maude, she is an animal, you know.

After I made the cute card of Maude "the animal", I looked at all the Art Impressions stamps in my stash and found that I have very few animal stamps and I didn't really want to use a bunny. I have this cute little giraffe stamp and a few other stamps that remind me of the African home of the giraffe so I designed this card with the animal theme in mind.

Well that is it for today hope you enjoyed my "animal" cards.

Thanks for stopping in, see you soon,

The Easter knock off purse.

Hi Everyone,

I opened my mail the other day and looked thru those coupons that come in the blue envelope from val-pak. I usually don't even open that thing but that day I did. Low and behold, an ad in there caught my eye. It was from Baskin Robbins and there was a pic of an ice cream cake in the shape of a purse. Too cute I thought.

I was invited to an Easter dinner at my friend Robin's and I always take a homemade something. So, as soon as I spied this, I figured I could make this.
So................. I went and bought a cake mix and icing and all the other things I needed to decorate the cake. And here is my take on that cake,

Ok, the decorating on the cake is a little crooked. Those handles, they are chipboard covered with scotch tape and then covered with icing. The hardest part was the decorating of the cake. I will probably make another one again, just because it's too cute. I am just calling this my knock off purse.LOL

Hope your Easter was a wonderful day. Here in the Greater Cincinnati area we had another day of off and on rain. Yippee!! I guess it could be worse, could be snow. Now that would be BAD.

I am working on a few things for promised projects and I do have something I will share with you all before the end of the week. Stay dry if you are in a wet area and have a great week!!

Thanks for stopping by,

It's Easter Bunny time again

I am sorry for being missing in action for so long. My computer had a stroke (you know, a brain seizure of sorts) and I had to take it to the PC hospital. Well, good news, I didn't have to get a brain transplant or a new PC, so the problems were corrected and I am back on board.

Tonight I put together a cute little tag with the sweetest Easter Bunny stamps from Sparkle N Sprinkle. They are in set 214, Star Bunnies. I used the new tinsel glitter also from Sparkle N sprinkle. It makes great grass doesn't it??

This will make a great tag for that Easter gift you are giving this Sunday.

Oh by the way, Margaret at Sparkle N Sprinkle, has an Easter special going on right now, thru midnight Sunday, 40% off. Here are the details:
Pick any one item including any stamp or stamp set or glues .. OR .. Pick any two items of all embossing powders, glitters and flocking, including Sparkle N Soft. Put your choice in the Comment Section of the order by listing the item name and number from the order. The purchase will be adjusted to reflect the discount when they process your credit card.

Excludes Spellbinder, Copic, kits, clubs, inks, markers, papers, gift certificates and accessories.

Hippity Hoppity Easter's on its way, so hop on in to Sparkle N Sprinkle and pick up some sparkly Easter savings.

When I photographed the tag above, I used a black background to see how the photos look with a light absorbing color instead of white which is light reflecting. I kind of like this look. Let me know what you think, leave me a comment, please.

I have a project that I need to finish for my post Sunday at Just Imagine/Kreations. So if you have time before Easter dinner, hop over to their blog to check out my latest Sunday Inspirations.

Well thanks for stopping by and I will see you soon,

The new dies that I used on this card are the Ribbon Banner and the Elegant Posts. These are so nice. I fell in love with both of these sets when Spellbinders had their sneak peek of all the new items that were going to be intro'd at CHA. Of course I fell in love with all the new sets. That seems like eons ago.

Just a reminder, you still have time to get you Easter cards done and in the mail. Thought this cute little guy would inspire you, maybe???

I had this card half done when I saw the challenge theme at Art Impressions for this week, it's ANYTHING GOES! so I am submitting it to their latest challenge.

By he way, just to toot my horn a little, I have been selected to be the guest designer on the Art Impressions blog for the month of May. (YAHOO!!!!) I was doing the happy dance last night when I found out. And and before I forget, they have just introduced two great new stamp sets in the watercolor series, A Stroll Down Main Street, and you can be sure that I will be getting those. They are so fantastic looking.

Well that is all for now, see you soon and thanks for stopping by,

Crafters Companion Challenge

Hi everyone,
Thought you'd like to see a card that I made for the challenge over at Crafter's Companion. I recently purchased some of their stamps and this fairy set ,which is so cute, was among the sets I bought. As soon as I got this stamp set I made this card but didn't know what I was going to do with it. Then I spied the challenge over at Crafters Companion. I added  the small yellow flowers to finish the card and decided this would work great for their challenge. Here is their criteria:
The challenge this month is to use your Crafter's Companion products and incorporate flowers into it. It's up to you how you want to include flowers. Your project can be a card, a layout, mini album, or altered item.

So here is my creation and what I used to create this card.
Stamp Set - Fairies Buttercup set from Crafter's Companion
Labels 10 - Spellbinders
Small shaped flowers - Lotus Punch from Just Imagine/Kreations
Ribbon - unknown (in my stash)
Markers - Copic
Cardstock-PopTones

Yellow makes me think of spring and I do believe its finally on its way. I hope I have inspired you today. That's it for now, hope you enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by,
